Rob is the founder and co-owner of Garner Financial Management. After a successful career in the container leasing industry, Rob decided to follow his passion and embarked on a second career in investment management. Rob has been actively managing client assets for the last 23 years.
Rob is a NAPFA Registered Financial Advisor, holds the Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC) and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) designations, both earned from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. He also completed the financial planning professional education program from the College for Financial Planning and has earned the Series 7 and 63 licenses. Rob received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
Rob has volunteered his time at numerous community and professional organizations over the years, to include serving as a Board Trustee and Chairman of the Investment Committee for the Alta Bates Summit Hospital Foundation. He also served as the City Treasurer for the City of Orinda from 2000-2009. Rob is currently the President of the NAPFA West Region Board of Directors.
During his spare time, Rob enjoys spending time with his wife, their two children and four grandchildren. He also enjoys jogging, playing golf and collecting wine.
